How does this benefit the parish?
Processing and reporting is faster and more efficient with online giving. There is less risk than when handling and processing physical checks and cash. Plus, having committed recurring donors also helps the parish more accurately form its annual budget.
What do I drop in the basket during Mass if I am giving online?
Even as an online donor, you will still receive offertory envelopes to drop into the basket during Mass. You will not need to place anything inside the envelope. If you wish, you may check the box on the envelope that says “I give online.” Either way, we will know you are an online contributor.
Sometime after your recurring giving has commenced you will no longer receive offertory envelopes since there is no longer a need to print and ship them. If you still wish to drop something into the basket at Mass, please look for the “I give online” cards as you walk into church and use those as the basket passes by you.
What if I make a mistake when submitting my online donation form?
Say you use the wrong credit card number or maybe accidentally hit one too many zeros than you intended when entering your gift amount. It’s okay. As soon as you realize the error, contact the parish office immediately so a void can be placed on the transaction.
Do I need to create an account?
No, you do not need to create an account when choosing to give a one-time gift. However, if you would like to set up and submit a recurring gift, you may create a donor account for managing your gift settings. Read more about recurring gifts and donor account below.
How do I create a recurring gift?
When completing the donation form, simply select “recurring” as your gift type, and the first transaction will be submitted then. After submitting the form, an email will follow explaining how you can create your own account to manage your gift’s payment and frequency settings as well as view and download transaction information.
How do I set up a donor account for recurring giving?
Donor accounts are only used for recurring giving. Simply offer your first gift using the donation form and be sure to select the “recurring” gift option. Upon submitting the form you will then receive an email with details on how to set up your donor account for managing the frequency and payment settings, and downloading transaction information.
With recurring giving, will I know when my next gift is processed?
Once you have set up a recurring gift you will be notified by email each time your gift is automatically processed. Each notification will also include a link to log into your account and check the status of your gift or make any changes.
With recurring giving, what do I do if my credit card expires?
You can always log into your donor account to update any credit card or banking account information, and update expiring credit card details. If your credit card on file is about to expire, you will receive an email notification at the beginning of the month the card is set to expire in order to give you the opportunity to update payment information so that you do not miss future gifts.
With recurring giving, what if I forget my account username or password?
If you forget how to log into your donor account at any time, there is a “forgot password” link on the login screen to help you set up a new password and access your account. If you still have trouble remembering how to log into your account, or using the “forgot password” option, please contact your parish office and a staff member there will be able to help you get back into your account.
